How dental implants are installed

The dental implant is inserted through surgical procedure, usually under local anesthesia. Let’s see the treatment phases*:

  • 1st  step: the dentist, thanks to the information collected through radiography images, evaluates the most suitable treatment options for the patient.
  • 2nd step: the implant is inserted creating the appropriate space inside the bone. Depending on the cases, the dentist will decide if placing the prosthetic crown in this specific moment or after a certain recovery period.
  • 3rd step: the surgical stiches removal takes place about a week later, a period in which an accurate oral hygiene is fundamental for the good implant success.
  • 4th step: the dentist and the dental technician create the personalized tooth for the patient, guaranteeing the perfect integration with the present natural elements.
  • 5th step: as healing has occurred, the final crown is placed, allowing the patient to smile, chew and speak very naturally again.

After the treatment, an accurate oral hygiene and regular checkups are fundamental for the maintenance of the implant in optimal conditions.

* Timing and procedures can change from case to case and are evaluated by your dentist.

Use

impianto dentale singolo

Single crown implant: it substitutes the loss of a single tooth, without the need of bridges that could compromise the nature of the adjacent teeth.

Multiple-union bridges: in case of loss of two or more teeth, the implant-supported bridge allows a natural restoration which guarantees the correct maintenance of tissues.

Full-Arch restoration: thanks to the support of 4 or 6 implants, you can replace the missing teeth of the upper or lower dental arch. In this case the prostheses can be classified as fixed complete dentures, which can be only removed by the dentist, or as removable dentures.
